Green School Committee

Our school is taking part in the Green Schools Initiative which aims to foster an awareness and a sense of care to our school and wider environment.

Our school has a Green School’s committee comprised of pupils. Ms. E Hurley is the Green Schools coordinators.

This year we are hoping to earn our first green flag by focusing specifically on Reducing Litter and Waste. We are doing this by following our ‘Green Code’.

Our Green Committee recently promoted our new Lunch Policy with a poster and slogan competition. There were many entries and the standard was very high. Our litter free lunches have already doubled. Well done to all the parents and pupils. Keep up the ‘green work’!

The Green Schools Committee are currently awaiting the visit of a County Council representative to assess their application for our first green flag for litter and waste. He will visit the school on Weds, Feb 19th. We have all done a lot of work in preparation for this. Fingers crossed we will soon be rewarded with our first green flag.
